This is not the most auspicious beginning to "One of my favorite story lines", but thinking about it I think this the first time Bob showed up in the strip, which turned out to be a good thing overall.

Here's a weird thought that struck me. Jimmy appeared in Pabafol in exactly 4 strips long before this before being banished forever from it as part of a strip.

Here's the weird thing: Mr. Snodgers and Jimmy were original characters in the strip Mr. Snodgers' Neighborhood, and were based on some things I came up with a friend as a child. Jeniffer and Bob were characters that I came up with to flesh out and populate the world for Jimmy and Mr. Snodgers. And these side characters have become, I don't know the right phrasing, much more touchstones to me than those orignal characters they were meant to compliment have. I mean, I could literally write Jeniffer strips all day, and I probably could do the same for Bob now that I think about it. Jimmy and Mr. Snodgers, I don't know, I just don't think about them anymore.

Was it because Jeniffer and Bob were created at a different point in my life? Was it because they're entirely my creation? Was it because they were side characters and so less confined in my mindset of how they should be? Why them and not some other pair?

I don't know. Bob at least probably still wouldn't if it wasn't for some constant pushing from one person.
